Apply regional settings
I actually don't know if this is the right place for my question, but here it goes. I have a terminal server farm which is used by multiple countries. I want to apply regional settings for each country during logon, so far no problem. I insert the Control Panel\International registry key during logon. However, there are a few applications which don't know the correct regional settings after it's applied. If I go to regional settings and just change the standards and formats and press cancel (so no changes applied!), the application works without problems. It looks like if you do something like that, explorer is refreshed or reloaded or something? Does anybody know an application/way to apply the regional settings that are currently in the registry during logon? I'm talking about a windows 2003 server. regards, Floris van der Ploeg

Hi, If system and other application could read the regional settings correctly, I think we need change the settings of the problematic applications or find workaround for them. In order to reproduce your problem, could you let us know your detailed configuration and which applications have problem? Such as which Registry Key was set and the symptom or error message of this issue. Thanks. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. It looks like changing the regional settings does something like an explorer refresh or something. I think my problem has to do with the fact that I'm using a mandatory profile with Dutch regional settings and overwriting the HKCU\Control Panel\Internation registry key. Most applications just work when I do it that way, but there are still 2 applications that need the "explorer refresh". I'm looking for a way to do this refresh programatically.

You may consider to create a scheduled task on user logon to do "explorer refresh". It may be easier then programming.
