Application wont launch/is not visible in RDP session

My title may be a little misleading. Here is the situation I am facing. I have an application installed on a Windows 2003 Server in a VMWare ESXi 4.1 environment. If I RDP into that server and attempt to launch the application, the
process starts, but I cant see the application. If I open the console for that server from the vSphere client, and have that side-by-side with the RDP session, I can attempt to launch the application in the RDP session and as we know, I cant
see the application, HOWEVER, looking at the console session, the application has launched successfully and is visible. Or conversely, if I just attempt to launch the application in the console session, it works fine. Please keep in mind that I
am logged into the server with my domain account in both places, and I am a domain admin as well as a member of the local administrators group. Does anybody have any idea what the problem is here? Now just for comparison, if I RDP into an XP computer
that has that same application installed, it launches fine. So I have to believe there is something on the server that is blocking RDP traffic to some extent.
Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated!
Thank you!
-Chris

Try following
Re-install the VMware Tools on the server in question and reboot once;then, launch the application and see if that makes any difference..Press any key... What the ... Where's any key ?

Hello,

Check for group policy restrictions, if any.Check whether that particular application is compatible with Windows 2003 or not?Check for the ports using for this application and check whether it is disabled or nor?Uninstall application and install it again, check for the difference.Regards, Ravikumar P

there is definitely no gorup policy in place.
already spoke to the vendor and, in fact, there is another company that uses this same application on Windows 2003 Server
If Windows Firewall IS NOT enabled, would it matter what ports the application uses?
I have already uninstalled and reinstalled this application 4+ times, no luck
