Application will not open....
Hi guys, hopefully someone can help me with an issue im having, i recently got a new laptop, but when trying to load an application for work"which is basically just a few files with manuals and pdfs inside" i got an issue along the lines of " you dont have permission to access these files" so after looking for solutions found an option to be removing my free avg, in doing and restarting ,i found the previous owner had loaded microsoft office starter, normal office and then the legitimate microsoft office i had bought, so after deleting these and keeping my legal copy, found the excel file with these "applications" now worked, and instead of a windows icon showing for my applications there was now file icons with which to open, but when i double click on them i get a proccessing mouse pointer then it stops and they wont go further,. now keeping in mind they open on other pcs what route can be taken? please assist!!

Hi, For this kind of errors you need to do a lot.. you not gonna get any KBs and articles you just need to find out by your own. i can tell you to try: !) try to find which program i restricting to open any app. 2)try to find which files runs at start up .if you find anything suspicious please remove that file from startup. you can see startup programs in Run>>MSCONFIG>>startup 3)verify the process of the task manager. 4)which process is taking to much resources. and a lot more... try out if its helpful then vote.
