I recommand to you to update your printer driver and check if this solve your problem or not. Have a look to this link . If this does not help, you may try to re-install Excel. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Hello Mr. X It seems we are near to fix this error. Facing same problem here. Providing more info ... I have observed some event logs that shows some printer/driver are missing along with excel.exe error. Tried removed all printer installed & then stopped spooler service. Retried application ...No logs of excel but excel was not initiated due to following error =>Event Type: Warning Event Source: TermServDevices Event Category: None Event ID: 1114 Date: 10/18/2010 Time: 7:47:37 PM User: N/A Description: Error communicating with the Spooler system service. Open the Services snap-in and confirm that the Print Spooler service is running. Resumed Spooler service & attempted 1 more time. But this time new error!! Event Type: Warning Event Source: PlugPlayManager Event Category: None Event ID: 263 Date: 10/19/2010 Time: 12:41:28 PM User: N/A Description: The service "SPOOLER" may not have unregistered for device event notifications before it was stopped.
