Application fails on Microsoft Server 2008 SP2
Hello,I'm running 2 Windows Server 2008 x64 machines with SP2 installed. On these machines an application called Mailmarshal in installed which (according to the manufacturer) should work fine with Windows Server 2008 (with SP2). But one of the services from this application sometimes just stops out of the blue: Faulting application MMReceiver.exe, version 6.5.4.0, time stamp 0x4a19eda3, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6002.18005, time stamp 0x49e03824, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0004e252, process id 0x1d8, application start time 0x01ca198c5574ff23. I contacted the manufacturer and they tell me it's not their problem because MMReceiver.exe is dependent on ntdll.dll which is a Microsoft dll so it's not their problem. Does anyone know where to search for the root cause of this problem? It does this on both machines.Regards,Koen

Hi, Please contact its manufacturer first to confirm whether it is fully compatible with Windows Server 2008 64bit. If so, please update it to the latest version. If the issue persists, I suggest disabling all the third party startup programs and services by using the MSConfig.exe utility shipped with Windows Server 2008. To use this tool, you can refer to the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;929135 If the problem does not occur, it indicates that the problem is related to one application or service we have disabled. You may use the MSCONFIG tool again to re-enable the disabled item one by one to find out the culprit. If the issue still occurs, please understand that to troubleshoot the blue screen issues, we usually need to perform debugging. However, in this forum, we do not provide debugging support. If you would like to perform debugging, please contact Microsoft Customer Support Service (CSS). To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request, please refer to the website listed below: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;PHONENUMBERS If you are outside the US, please refer to http://support.microsoft.com for regional support phone numbers. Hope it helps. Tim Quan - MSFT
