Anonymous access configuration
Hello all, I have created a user id (ABC) to be used to configure the "Account used for anonymous access". Can this id ABC be set to have its password AS "Password never expires"?? is it a good practice. if it's not set as never expires then when the pwd expires, the users will not be able to access the web site. Awaiting your views/comments. Thanks.

Hiya, It really depends on the location of your site and your security around the access. You just have to update the password in the IIS everytime it expires. I've added a little notes on the matter which might be interesting to read. Not sure which version your running.. Thanks for the post. the issue is that, i have many servers where i need to use anonymous access. problem is we have to keep track and chnage the password on all the servers whenever it expires etc... i have put the id ABC to be "Password never expires" such that the users/business people are not impacted whenever the password is expired/locked. Thanks

Hi Max, Thanks for posting here. This does seem like a “service account” scenario, maybe you can acquire suggestions from our guide below in order to secure your system with following our best practice: Services and Service Accounts Security Planning Guide http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc170953.aspx Thanks.
