All User account
(2008 R2) I am the administrator and am attempting to limit certain applications and desktop icons to certain users. Since the applications are already installed and showing for all users, I was going to go into the all users desktop account and cut and paste the shortcuts to the correct users. I get a an access denied response whenever I attempt to open the folder (there are many others I that I can not open, also, ie default user, doc's and settings). I checked permissions and it shows I am granted full controls. How would I go about granting myself administrator access to these various folders? Is there a better way to assign these users access than the way I am going about it? There are actually 3 subgroups of users that all should have different applications, without access to the other users app's. Thank you!

here is more good way - use Group Policies Preferences to copy your shortcuts to users. Please check this link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=42e30e3f-6f01-4610-9d6e-f6e0fb7a0790&DisplayLang=enhowever this is not so secure way to restrict users. You need to use AppLocker (if your clients are running Windows 7 Ultimate and Enterprise) or Software Restriction Policies (in User Configuration section) if your clients are running Windows XP and above.[http://www.sysadmins.lv] As always enjoy the automation of tools within the Windows-based, .NET aware, WPF accessible, multi-processes on the same IP / Port usage, admin's automation tool, powershell.exe!
