Hello,

Is it possible to configure to be alerted when an alert is first generated as a warning and then send out an update when the same moves into critical?

I've read a few articles and am a bit confused about the possibilities and limitations. Can someone please explain?

No - the alert is generated by the first state change. It is this alert that fires the notification. There is no new alert when state goes from warning to critical. It is a design limitation.

I try to avoid 3 state monitors where possible for this reason. And I always avoid generating alerts on warning states.

2) If monitor change its health state from warning into critical, this monitor will not further generate alert when it has already generate alert in warning state.

Thank you all for your answers! That clarifies. It's a shame that we cannot have alerts at different stages. I would have loved to be able to create tickets based on alerts and upgrade their severity as the situation worsens. Hope this feature is introduced / fixed soon.
