Alert description doesn't load data from AlertParameter

Hi,

I've been tasked with implementing a custom MP for Infoblox in our SCOM 2007 R2 environment. It works perfectly with just one issue. In the Alert view I can't seem to get the Alert Description to get filled with the correct data from Alertparameter, the raw {0} XML code is just displayed. If I however look at the Alerting tab via "view or edit settings", I can see the correct code as it should. I'm a bit stumped here and just looking for pointers as to where I should start troubleshooting. The actual data that should be presented (IP, SLA etc) displays just fine under the device state view so the issue isn't so simple as that the data from source isn't viable. Here's a prntscrn to make the issue more clear - http://sv.tinypic.com/r/5xpjsl/8

Please let me know if more information is needed and thanks in advance,

Peter.

Alert description parameter will differ depending if it is a monitor, rule etc

refer to the below for detailed info.

OK. So if I understand you correctly the problem lies within this $Target/Property[Type="TS.Infoblox.Network.Device"]/HostName$ - an alert parameter shouldn't in this case look like this?

I saw this blog post by Holman that described a similar alert paramater

http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2015/02/20/can-alert-names-contain-dynamic-data.aspx

<AlertParameter7>$Target/Host/Property[Type="MicrosoftWindowsLibrary6062780!Microsoft.Windows.Computer"]/IPAddress$</AlertParameter7>

Not sure if I see the difference or the issue, but I will look into it. Thanks for the hint.

Thanks Stefan for your input. In my reply to Vincez I had already quoted that link and can't quite understand why it doesn't work for me. For now, I solved it by directing the operator to the state view instead where the data is presented correctly.
