Hi Keren,

As I understand, the file types do not show in the search results after adding the file type in the search administration in SharePoint 2013.

You also could check if the file type has been crawled in the crawl log.

If the file type has been crawled successfully, you could create a new search result type for the adding file type. For more detailed information, you could refer to the article below.

The article below is about How to create a new result type in SharePoint Server 2013.

Hi,

We already created a result type and set all file types but it seems that adding the file types and crawl still didn't change the setting in the server. The display searched result doesn't contain for example"xxx.jpg" but list.../forms/ID= 5 (so no errors in crawl log).

I found an article talking about "Restart the SharePoint Search Host Controller service to apply the changes"

Do you thing that it may help or any other thing?

Hi Keren,

You could check if the file type is in the blocked file type in the central administration. You could go to the central administration->security->define blocked file types->select the web application you use, then you could check if the file type is listed in the blocked file types. If it is, you could deleted the file type from the blocked file types.

You also could reset the index in the search service application.
