Advice about how to orginize an installation
We are planning to buy a new server PC, it would have four 1-TB hard disks and they would be used in pairs in order to implement RAID-1 (mirror) and we will have drives C: and D:. We would like to use the hard disk space wisely and this is precisely our concern. Here is what we will install in the server: * Windows Server 2008 * Web application (about 50MB) * Database. We think that using drive C: for OS only is not a good idea because there would be a lot of space without use. Adding the web application to drive C: would still leave a lot of free space. Drive D: would be for the database only. We would very much appreciate any advice. Respectfully, Jorge MaldonadoBest regards, JORGE MALDONADO

Hello, if you use 100 GB for the system drive it should be enough, even for future SPs and updates. The other space use for D-drive or even let some space unallocated so you can expand the C/D drive for future requirements.Best regards Meinolf Weber MVP, MCP, MCTS Microsoft MVP - Directory Services My Blog: http://msmvps.com/blogs/mweber/ Disclaimer: This posting is provided AS IS with no warranties or guarantees and confers no rights.
