Administrator rights are not applied
Good day guys, We have a Windows Server 2008 R2 server that is part of a domain. My domain user account is part of a group in this server. This group is then included in the Administrators built-in group so that I am granted with Administrator rights. However, when I log-in to this server using Remote Desktop, my account does not possess Administrators rights even though I am part of a group that is under the Administrators group. Our workaround is to explicitly add my account to the Administrators group. But my account is automatically removed in the Administrators group everyday so we have to add my account again. We don't know why I am not granted the Admin rights, can you please provide insights on how to address our issue. Thank you very much.

Hello, this sounds like the AdminSDHolder is working if you are removed from specific groups, please see here about details: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2009.09.sdadminholder.aspxBest regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Hi, Does this issue exist on all domain user or just some of them? It seems that you have enabled "Restricted Groups" in the Group Policy, if so, make sure to remove it and see if it's work. You can check the output of "gpresult /v" . Hi everyone, Thank you for your insights, it gave me new perspectives on how to address the issue. @Guowen Su Thank you for mentioning the "Member Of" tab in the Active Directory as it allowed me to identify the missing group in my account. I have added my account in the "LocalAdminUsers" group and it solved the problem. I am now able to remote our server with Administrative privileges. Thank you guys again.
