Adding additional languages to Windows 2008 Server
How can I change the display language (menu's, control panel etc.) on Windows 2008 Server? I have changed the "system locale" under Regional and Language options to the language i'm looking for but all the menus etc are still in English. thanks.pajoryan123

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=e9f6f200-cfaf-4516-8e96-e4d4750397ff&displaylang=en youll have to download and install language packs to completely change the ui to a specific language (for a user)

I tried this. The downloads are .img files which contain .cab files. When I point the "install or uninstall Display languages" wizard at this image file i get a "no language packs found" error. I can view the contents of the .img as it's mapped to the CD rom drive on the server. thoughts?pajoryan123

Hi, To install the Language Pack(s) (MUI), please refer to the following steps: 1.Open Install or uninstall display languages wizard. 2.Click on Install display languages. Next, click on the Browse button and select the lp.cab file. 3.Click on Next when the lp.cab file is loaded. 4.Accept the license terms and click Next. The selected language pack is being installed. 5.Click on Finish and then select the new language to display. Check the “Apply display language to welcome screen and system accounts” check box and click on Change display language button. 6.Restart Windows for the system language change to take effect. Within Windows Server 2008 there is a new command line tool which will let you install language packs in a silent (if needed) and orderly fashion, please refer to the following link: Lpksetup Command-Line Options http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc766010(WS.10).aspx If any trouble is encountered, please let us know.
