Adding Windows 2012 R2 DC to 2003 domain

Hi all,

I have read through a lots of online tutorials / guides regarding adding win 2012 R2 to Win 2003 domain before we start.

unfortunately this is not an easy task in our environment. when it gets to ADPREP check, it shows "The RPC server is unavailable." error.

- Existing DC is running on 2003 R2, Domain functional level is on 2003.

- Domain firewall is off.

- Existing DC 1 has got Exchange 2007 on it. (2003R2 -64 bit)

- Existing DC 2 as file server. (2003R2 -64 bit)

Any thoughts?

thanks

Gary

Hi,

Thanks for your post.

So did you refer to this article for adding a Windows Server 2012 Domain Controller to an Existing Windows Server 2003 network?

http://blogs.technet.com/b/canitpro/archive/2013/05/05/step-by-step-adding-a-windows-server-2012-domain-controller-to-an-existing-windows-2003-network.aspx

Please try it again and check the result.
