Active Directory Certificate Services how to define my OID number with a PEN from IANA
I have received our oganisation Private Enterprise Number (PEN) from IANA. How do I define my OID for AD Certificate Services? I will define following line in CAPolicy.inf: OID=1.3.6.1.4.1. my_PEN .xx.yy My question is what values for xx and yy should I use? Thanks, SJJ123

whatever you decide is approprite. the whole namespace is under you exclusive control. I would for example go for XX = 1 = PKI, YY = OID1ForYourPurpose,or you can sub-structure it even more than that. It just depends on what you are planning for the fuuture.ondrej.

also you can inspect Microsoft's OID namespace to see how you CAN (not obligately) use your own namespace:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287547http://www.sysadmins.lv
