Activation of Evaluation Copy
Is it necessary to activate an evaulation copy of Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition? What about an evaluation copy of Windows SQL Server 2008?

HiEvaluation copy is the copy of software which is given by the developer or a company for demo, trial or free version. This is for customer to check software before purchasing and its depend upon you the evaluation copy is of maximum 180 days around 6 months and after 4th month it will ask you for activation and after 180 days you cannot able to use it. Mainly the evaluation copy is a trial version for testing purposes.

Hello It is not necessary if you just intend on using the eval copies for evaluation as its main purpose and it will self expires in about 180 days after initial installation. If the eval copy expires, you can uninstall and do another clean install. But if you need to use it beyond evaluation then you will need to purchase a license.Isaac Oben MCITP:EA, MCSE

Hello there, Would like to check where can I download an evaluation copy of Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition with either Service Pack 1 or no Service Pack. Would also like to know if we have purchase a license for the above mentioned, do we need to reinstall everything or just activate it with the license key will do. Thanks!
