Activation Issue
Hi, I'v got this really strange issue best decribed in the following screen dump. It says it is a pre release version of windows but I am sure it was loaded from a Select DVD. It accepts our select product key but now says it will stop. I have run slmgr.vbs and it says it is permanently activated. This is happening on 5 Terminal Servers 2 domain controllers and 1 SQL server. All VM's most running under Hyper-V some running under Full 2008 R2 which was installed from the same DVD but does not display the same problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

I installed these back in January and do not remember doing any special updates as one of the servers is SUS. at the time I got the little bottom right evaluation copy message I believed it was caused by a service pack install but as it was all done through SUS did not worry about it. so in answer to your question Yes that could be the case.

Hello, then remove the SP an install the correct. Be aware that it is not recommended to use BETA SPs or software on production domains.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Hi, Would you please post a screenshot after uninstalling the beta SP1 for Windows Server 2008 R2? Based on the current situation, please try to re-activate Windows Server 2008 R2 and change the theme color to check the result. To re-activate Windows Server 2008 R2, please navigate to Control Panel\System and Security\System, click “change product key” and type the original product key. You may also run SLUI 4.exe and follow the wizard to re-activate Windows Server 2008 R2 by phone. To change theme color, please navigate to Control Panel\Appearance\Display, click “Change color scheme”, select “Windows Classic” and click “OK”. Regards, Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
