Accessing Windows Vista from Windows 2008 server
Hi, I had configured Windows Vista and Windows 2008 with Static IP, but when I try to ping from Vista to 2008 and vice versa with "Hostname" it pings Link-Local IPv6 Address and when I ping from both the sides with static IP it gives proper reply. I want the reply of static IP when I ping the system with "Hostname". Thanks

Hi Bill, Thanks for the help. But I am using IPv6 only and I try with -6 option, then also it is giving the reply with Link-Local address.

Hi Nitin, Thanks for posting here. Would you please paste both Windows 2008 server and Vista client ipconfg /all information here? And what's the exact error message you've received when try with -6 option to ping the "Hostname"?This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
