Access error but permissions appear OK
We have a a server that our files are stored on. We connect to the network by Terminal Services using Remote Desktop. The servers have Windows Server 2008 Enterprise SP1(the Termserver) & the other server Windows Server 2008 Standard. I have a folder that is setup on the File Server with some users having access called Pictures. All users appear to be setup the same but I can't map the drivefor one user. The setup for Advanced Permissions is Type/Allow Permission/Full Control and not inherited.UnderSecurity they are setup with Full Controldown the line. It goes D://Pictures/Pictures/2009. The only difference is the one user with the problem is setup under Properties/Security/Advanced on the first Picture folder twice, the first as Type/Allowed Permission/Full Control InheritiedFrom/not inherited. Then a second one with Type/Allowed Permission/Full Control Inherited From/D:\. All the others just have the not inherited one. It does not give me the option to Remove the one inherited but I could remove the other. On the second Pictures folder all the users have the two different entries. I hope I was able to explain this so it makes sense. What could possibly be wrong? THX

Hi,Thanks for the post.Would you please use the AccessEnum tool to check if the relevant permissions are set correctto each folder.AccessEnumhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897332.aspxIf possible, you may scan the D:\ directory and save the output and use Windows Live SkyDrive (http://www.skydrive.live.com/) to upload the file and then give me the download address. Thanks,Miles
