Access denied when accessing a share from a specific PC by a specific user
Hello. We have a share on a Windows 2008 server that allows access to a user group. Both my boss and I are members of the same user group. When my boss attempts to access the share from his laptop, he gets an "Access denied" error. However, if he logs on to another PC, he can access the share. When I log on to his laptop, I can access the share, and I can access it from my own PC too. Basically, the share works as it should, except when my boss is trying to access it from his own laptop. I'm out of ideas. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd be enormously grateful. Thanks in advance.

Hi, Please make sure that the laptop of your boss hasn't been denied or blocked to access the share folder. Do you find any deny permission for the laptop or Group which is the laptop member of under "Share" and "Security" of share folder? Which groups is a particular computer member of? http://blogs.msdn.com/b/boris_yanushpolsky/archive/2007/10/26/which-groups-is-a-particular-computer-member-of.aspx If the problem perisits, you try to change the SID of laptop and see if it works. You have to disjoin the domain before changing the SID of computer. How to change SID on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 using sysprep? http://www.brajkovic.info/windows-server-2008/windows-server-2008-r2/how-to-change-sid-on-windows-7-and-windows-server-2008-r2-using-sysprep/ Brent Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
