Access 2002 Database under Windows Server 2008 64-bit
I have a Visual Basic application (developed in Visual Studio 2008) installed and running on Windows 7 and Windows XP workstations. This application manages/updates an Access 2002/2003 database that has been residing on a network server running Windows Server 2003. If the network server is updated to Windows Server 2008 64-bit, will I experience any compatibility problems?

Hi, You may try to run the application in compatibility mode. 1. Right click on the .exe file of the application and select Properties. 2. Switch to Compatibility tab. 3. Check the box of “Run this program in compatibility mode for” and select Windows Server 2003. If it does not work, you may need to redevelop this application. In addition, you may also try to ask for further assistance from Microsoft Access forum. Regards,Arthur Li TechNet Community Support

IMHO, either consider an alternative to convert legacy database to newer version http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/access-help/convert-a-database-to-the-access-2007-file-format-HA010048406.aspx or use virtualized solution. Regards Milos
