I found out that if I disable the local internet connection then the network adapter will disappear from the "Network Connection" area. The other thing is that I can't change the mac Address by change the value in the network adapter's Configuration-->Advanced column. I can change the mac in xp by using this method.

Hi, Firstly you have to make sure that driver is signed by Microsoft, if it's not compaitable, it might cause those conflict. If it's signed, so try to remove and and add the adapter again to the server (after turning it off and removing power cord) and let Windows identify it again. Good luck
