A lot of event ID 717 and 722 - MSExchangeMonitoringCorrelation

What can I do to make these go away. They occur very often on my 2012 MS. Here are some details:

To troubleshoot this issue further and possibly resolve it, please follow the steps provided:

Restart the following Root Management Server services:

  • Config service (Microsoft.MOM.ConfigServiceHost.exe)
  • Health Service (HealthService.exe)
  • SDK service (Microsoft.MOM.Sdk.ServiceHost.exe)

  1. Review the Application log and System log on your Exchange 2010 servers for related events. For example, events that occur immediately before and after this event may provide more information about the root cause of this error.
  2. To review detailed information about the cause of this alert, use the Operations Console in Operations Manager. For more information, see the "Introduction" section in this topic.
  3. Resolve your issue by using self-support options, assisted support options, and other resources. You can access these resources from the Exchange Server Solutions Center. From this page, click Self-Support Options in the navigation pane to use self-help options. Self-help options include searching the Microsoft Knowledge Base, posting a question at the Exchange Server forums, and other methods. Alternatively, in the navigation pane, you can click Assisted Support Options to contact a Microsoft support professional. Because your organization may have a specific procedure for directly contacting Microsoft Product Support Services, be sure to review your organization's guidelines first.

Hi Rune,

The correlation engine is installed on one of the management servers. Because the exch2010 mp with correlation engine is still old style it will try to connect to the RMS. In 2012 this is the RMS emulator. It could be that that is the same box or another management server of yours. In the scom administration pane -> management servers, you will see which one is the emulator. Check if that machine is reachable or if it has performance issues or something like that. If you need to you can move the RMSe to another machine with a simple command.
