A big black space in Add Remove
Hi! My Windows 2003 Server is showing a long black area in Add Remove Programs. Systeminfo from CMD is showing file1, file2, file3........ for these entries. The uninstall key in Regedit does not have any -1 entry for Display Icon. Secondly, all the icons in Admin Tools are missing their normal icons. I have scanned the server with different AV and Malware tools but no virus. Restarted the server many times. Any Suggestions! Thanks.

Do you have any themes running on the server ? if yes please remove and try it. Try upgrading the service pack if you have an old one installed if sp2 is installed re install and recheck the issue and also see how it works in the safe mode. http://www.arabitpro.com

Well safe mode is ok. What to do now. Should i install sp2 again as it is already installed. The server also has an application running on it. Will reinstalling sp2 make problem for the application? Thanks.

create_share, did you try Syed's suggestions (cleanboot and SP2 reinstallation) on problematic server ? If you had tried them and still there are issues, you might want to try In-Place Upgrade of Windows Server 2003 as an last option. The device manager was showing yellow mark on many of the devices. I started the server in safe mode and removed those devices including the VGA Card and then started in normal mode and installed the VGA driver. It seems ok now but the admin tools still missing their proper icons which i think is the corrupted profile problem because when i logged in with another account it was ok. Thanks.
