A Little Bit of Everything...
I have worked with NT 4.0, 2000 and 2003 as servers. 2003 was the biggest nightmare of them all in my opinion. Anyway, I'm new to server enterprise 2008. IN the three prior versions of the MS NOS, I was able to have remote control active on the server while using AD DS, however, under 2008, only Vista and 2008 seem to be able to access the remote control functionality while AD DS is installed and promoted. Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong in this image? Also, with Terminal Services, XP keeps telling me that it cannot find the terminal server whenever I try to use it, but again, Vista and 2008 seem to have no qualms about getting through to the Terminal Server on the network. Also, pertaining to the prior paragraph... The Application Server appears to be totally unreachable by XP again. Is 2008 just not fully compatible with XP and prior? I don't seem to be able to do anything except DNS, DHCP, gateway and file and printer sharing with XP and below. Any ideas? Hopefully someone has a suggestion here as I am totally lost. None of these problems have I encountered prior to 2008. Wolverine

Read these: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/prodtech/windowsserver2008/default.mspx http://4sysops.com/archives/windows-server-2008-terminal-services-new-features-part-1/ http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/terminal-services/default.mspx Upgrade to the latest TS Client too, since there are new features not available in the older one. You might need to adjust your encryption settings for TS to work with older clients.
