AUTOMOUNT is disabled after a reboot

Hi all,

I have an issue whereby I have 2 RAW Disk Mounts on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Installation.

After each reboot I query AUTOMOUNT from DISKPART and it says it's disabled. I always leave this enabled before the reboot.

Because of this, the volumes don't appear to come online and for a period of time the disks are shown as offline until I manually intervine.

Any ideas how I can get the the configuration to remember that AUTOMOUNT is enabled and to bring these disks online automatically after a reboot?

Thanks

Craig

Hi Craig,

Did you install any third-party application on the server? Please temporarily disable third-party applications and then check if this issue still exist.

In addition, please type regedit in RUN to open Registry Editor and follow the path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MountMgr\NoAutoMount

Did you find the value name of NoAutoMount? If the value data of NoAutoMount is set to 1, this indicates that Automatic mounting of new volumes is Disabled. If the value is set to 0, this indicates that Automatic mounting of new volumes is Enabled. Please set the value to 0 and monitor the result.

If any update, please feel free to let me know.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Justin Gu
