AD Replication Latency Report

Environment:

SCOM 2007 R2 RMS + Reporting on Windows 2008 R2

Server SQL Server 2008 R2 on Windows 2008 R2 Server

Management Pack: Active Directory Operations Manager 2007 MP

Issue:

As per the article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc838065.aspx AD Management pack provides out-of-box AD Replication Latency Report which summarizes the minimum, average, and maximum replication latency per naming context, per domain controller. This report is extremely useful in verifying any service level agreement (SLA) that you have for changes to replicate within the domain or forest. However, I don’t see that report under my setup. The only available reports are:

AD Domain Changes, AD Domain Controllers, AD Machine Account Authentication Failures, AD Replication Site Links, AD Role Holders, AD SAM Account Changes, DC Disk Space Charts and DC Replication Bandwidth.

Is AD Replication Latency Report removed from Active Directory Operations Manager 2007 MP onwards? The management guide too does not provide any information about that report.

Thanks

Hi Manish,

The management pack which mentioned in that article is for Operations Manager 2005:

Understanding Active Directory Domain Services Management Pack Operations

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc838065.aspx

Since you are using SCOM 2007 R2 and you have imported the Active Directory Management Pack for SCOM 2007, please refer to the Active Directory Management Pack Guide:

Active Directory Management Pack Guide

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd262035.aspx

Regarding the reports in the management pack, please also see:

Appendix: Reports

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply.

I agree that AD Replication Latency Report was in Operations Manager 2005 as the article says however my original concern is:

Why that report is removed from Active Directory Operations Manager 2007 MP for SCOM 2007 R2? Actually I need to reporting on SLA that object should be replicated acroos site 15mins and intersite 5mins. For this rules are availabe and Replication View pane is already there but how  can i generate report on this.

If a useful report had been removed in a later version of the management pack, that is unfortunate.  The good news is it's relatively easy to generate a report about the data.  If the collection rule stores the samples in the data warehouse as a performance counter, we can use the Performance report in the Generic Reporting Library.  Or you can customize it further by creating your own reports.  Here are some links on how to do that:

Thanks for the Replies.... I used Generic Performance report availabe out-of-box with AD Replication Latency Counter and found to be giving desired results. Thanks Again -Manish
