6008- Unexpected reboot
Server2003 Standard is rebooting on a daily basis usually 1-3 times daily in the AM. Have not been able to identify anything in the logs pointing to this behavior. Is there any way to determine if it's process related or hardware. This is an HP Proliant 350ML G3.

hi , windows operating system doesnt restart automatically, though its tough to predict the root cause of the issue , i could point out few things which might be helpful. a) make sure you do not have the scheduled job configured to restart your server b) since when is this problem occuring c) virus activity , there are number virus / worms / botnets which does this , so run appropriate AV and check if you still experience th issue d) turn on the server in safe mode with networking for a day if possible and check the behavior e)uninstall any suspected software installed on the server. ( take a delta between working ( earlier ) and now ( non working ) f) another option is to perform the remote or live debugging. for this you need to setup either a client or another serve on same network , download windbg, configure the symbols appropriately and then peform live kd, if you do not have the expertise to do this step yoou could open a ticket with microsoft.

It’s suggested to contact Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) so that a dedicated Support Professional can help you on this issue. Hi Ntscon, First check is there any dump file created for Last unexpected rebooted (C:\Windows\buleScreen), If there is no dump file in the Server, check the Error Message in the HP ILO Event log. you will get some clue why server is getting unexpected rebooting. Mostly Update the Latest PSP and Firmware update in the server will resolve the issue -- 95 %. Regards, Sridharan. M
