5 updates on Windows 2008 R2 DC will not update
I want to start out that WSUS is also installed on this server, but feel that it is not a WSUS issue as all other servers and workstations are recieving updates successfully. In fact this server is also recieving updates successfully, it is just that there are (5) updates some from November and December that do not update automatically or manually install/update one at a time. Receive these errors. Code 8007371B, Code 80073712. I ran SUR and it found errors, how do I fix this? ================================= Checking System Update Readiness. Hi, Please copy the following files from a good Windows Server 2008 R2 computer and copy them to C:\Windows\servicing\Packages of the problematic computer. You need to take ownership of the folder and assign yourself permissions to create and modify files. servicing\packages\Package_for_KB2286198~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.1.mum servicing\packages\Package_for_KB983590~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.0.mum servicing\packages\Package_for_KB2286198~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.1.cat servicing\packages\Package_for_KB983590~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.0.cat After that, please restart the computer and install the updates again. I tried the recommendations by Arthur_Li and this did not work. I have also tried to download and install each update one at a time and that does not work. So, I am still looking for answers. If there is any additional information I can provide, let me know.DF

I did try using the system readiness tool and it removed the Unavailable repair files from the log, however there are still the 34 CSI Missing Winning Component Keys and the 5 updates still fail when I try and update them either collectively, one at a time or attempting to manually install from the KB download.DF

Hi, If all of the above suggestions cannot fix the issue for you, you may use the disk to perform an In-Place upgrade to repair the system. In-Place upgrade ============= 1. Start the computer. 2. Insert the Windows Server 2008 R2 Installation DVD in the computer's DVD drive after computer starts. 3. Select one of the following procedures: • If Windows automatically detects the DVD, the "Install now" screen appears. Click "Install now". • If Windows does not automatically detect the DVD, follow these steps: a. Click Start, type Drive:\setup.exe in the Search Bar, and then click OK. Note: Drive is the drive letter of the computer's DVD drive. b. Click Install now. 4. When you reach the "Which type of installation do you want?" screen, click Upgrade to repair Windows Server 2008 R2. Note: If the Upgrade is disabled, please do not click Custom which will reinstall Windows Server 2008 R2. Arthur, Now that SP1 is out, will applying this update resolve the issue instead of doing and in-place upgrade and repair? I really do not feel comfortable doing a repair on a DC which has multiple roles. This server is a VM, so I can back it up or snapshot it before doing any sort of upgrade.DF
