Hello Vministrator,
According to our experience, some third party antivirus software could be result in this issue on a file server, you may try to refer to the following KB articles to see if it is the case.

Meanwhile, Please pay attention to the following issue whose symptom are all over the place. If you are using the older versions of Symantec Endpoint Protection and Symantec Antivirus, I would like to suggest you upgrade it

In order to narrow down the cause of the issue more efficiently, let us refer the following steps to perform a Clean Boot to see if the issue still continues.
Step 1: Perform a Clean Boot
1. Click "Start", go to "Run", and type "msconfig" in the open box to start the System Configuration Utility.
2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click Disable All (if it is not gray).
3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK".
4. Restart your computer. When the "System Configuration Utility" window appears, please check the box and click "OK".
If possible, please uninstall and reinstall file and printer sharing for the network adaptor for a trial.
Hope it helps.

Hi ,@David: after changing registry the issue did not resolved. Vministrator mentioned in his first post that he changed registry entry so was curious to know which registry he changed.@vministrator: You can define the value till 30 and test your behavior.FYI : by increasing the value , srv.sys file allocates the desired stack locations for the IRP's
