Ok I am stumped.
I have a server which has a web application (www.myapp.com) lets call this server 1. I have another server (server 2) which has a large raid drive for storage. The Web application on server1 can access the files on the shared E: drive on server 2.I
I also have multiple virtual directories on server1 that point to a specific folder on server2's E: drive. Each folder has a simple website per customer (www.myapp.com/customername) and this shows them their unique site. This was all working fine on a mass storage device but I had to relocate the folders to server2's E: drive.
When I try to go to the virtual folder I get
401 - unauthorized: access is denied due to invalid credentials
Any idea how to grant permissions or what permissions to grant on server2's shared drive so server1's virtual directories can have access when trying to go to the page via a browser. FYI you can browse the contents of the virtual directory from IIS Manager on server1.
I have already set security permissions on the E drive for Everyone, Network Service, IUSR, Users, Anonymous, IIS_IUSR. Not sure how to specify accounts from Server1 or if that is even needed.
