Hi, i seldom frequent this technet forum and i believe no one intentionally ignores you. ;-)
As for your problem, pretty isolated.
I have run Beta 3, RC0 and various other builds in into virtualised environments with no problems.
I suggest you download the RC0 and burn to your DVD at the lowest speed your drive can write at.
I have seen a few cases where the media was bad.
Since you're installing from a virtualized environment, you can mount the ISO file and install right from it.

ahh it was a bad download. not that the files stored in the download sections are corrupt but my connection was a little slow and possibly skipped a few files. got a friend to d/l and burn me a copy its loaded now and fine except for one prob. it doesn't seem to store driver files very well. i use a thompson speedtouch usb modem and have to reinstall it each time i reboot. any suggestions?

On your Vista or XP i suppose. Contact Speedtouch for a fix.
Please repost in another forum as i think might be in the wrong place. ;-) Some client MVPs might be able to help you better.
As for me, i never like USB Modems.. i always use a router with a modem built in.
