2008 server to server file copy
Hi all,I have got a really strange issue regarding file coping from one server to another.Setup:All servers are Windows Server 2008 fully patched, firewalls are off, all aremember servers apart from the DC which is a DC1x Domain Controller1x Hyper-V box - member server1xVirtual MachineManager Server - member server1x Data Protection ManagerAll servers are running ok apart from the hyper-v box. From any server to the hyper-v box and vice\versa I am able to browse the network shares, rdp, join the server to the domain. I can install the VMM Client to manage the box. The problem is when it comes to coping files to\from the hyper-v box, the calculating time box appears and then eventually shows a dialog box Item Not Found even though the file is there, I was able to view and select it. The other odd thing is that I can copy really small files like 1k , 2k files, anything bigger than that I have these issues...I really have no idea what it could be...has anyone else seen this issue ???Cheers in advancedRichard

Hi, In order to isolate the issue, could you tell me more information about your environments: 1, You have four servers, did you encountered this symptom on all the other three servers to copy file to/from the Hyper-V server or only one of them? 2, Whats the version of the server that you encountered this problem? 3, After the dialog box Item Not Found showed, did the files have been copied to the local disk or not? We found that Symantec Antivirus software causes some network problems on Windows Server 2008. Have you installed Symantec Antivirus on the Hyper-V server? If so, please upgrade or uninstall the software to test whether this issue persists. Windows Server 2008 network shares become unresponsive with Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 or Symantec AntiVirus 10.2 client installed and Auto-Protect enabled http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-security.nsf/854fa02b4f5013678825731a007d06af/acb1ac0cabfc43278825746c006bc61a?OpenDocument In addition, please boot the Hyper-V system into Safe Mode with Network to see whether this issue exists in Safe Mode.
