    In one of our staging box we are having SQL server 2008r2 SP1. When we are running the SP2 patch it is not showing the instance name . It is showing blank. Can anyone help on this?

   As I stated above, discovery report is also not generating for me.

Then you might need to first rebuild your SQL Server I guess either previous installation is corrupt or there is some other issue
