2008 equivilent of the i386 source
hello, I know 2k8 has an image based setup now, and is highly componentized... but I wanted to make sure on this one specific thing: back in 2k and 2k3 it was common practice to copy the source files (the i386 directory for x86 version, can't think of x64 folder name) to the hard drive so that they would be there when needed, like when adding system components or hardware etc... Is there an equivilent folder or folders that should be copied to the hard drive when using server 2008? I see there is a \windows\servicing\packages directory already there, is that the 2k8 equivelent?

Hello, all needed files are copied during instllation to the harddisk. So there is no need for the "old fashioned" way.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. ** Please do NOT email, only reply to the Forum
