2008 R2 Server licensing
Hi,
We have the following environment:
Server 1-
OS: Win 2008 R2 Std,
running: MS SQL 2008 R2
Server 2-
OS: Win 2003 Server Web Edition
running: IIS6
Server 3-
OS: Win 2003 Server Std
running: Terminal Server 2003
All domain users (around 100) are connected to Server 3 and through RDC.
There is an Application on a Server 3 ( for terminal users), that is using Server 1 SQL Server. Some users have client local Applications that use Server 1 SQL
Also there is a number of external users around 70 - 100, that are connected to Server 2 Web Server from Internet ( they are authenticated through application on Web Server and their account information is stored on a SQL database on Server 1) they are NOT
domain users
Question:
What licensing mode and idea for sql 2008 and server 2008 should be used in this case ( per cpu, per user, external connectors...)
I do not care about terminal server 2003/ web server 2003 it is already in place)
thanks, Nick
