2003 to 2008 migration
Dear Team,
I want to know the steps to do?
Req:- Server Move
Existing DC in 2003 32bit to be moved to New IBM sever having 2008R2 64 bit
1.Is it possible configure the new one with same IP and domain name and connected to the network.?if it is not possible please suggest ?

Hi Nithin,
You need to perform the following steps, if you want to use the same IP and name

I can see no reason to keep the machine names but if you really will do it see:

One more clarification, Shall I need to rejoin , whole 300 XP clients to new 2008 DC
for client lo-gin ?

No you don't have to rejoin your clients, they will be able to authenticate without any issues, you may have to change the DNS IP Address on the clients to Windows 2008 DC's IP(If you do not keep the same IP address as that of your old 2003 DC.Thanks and Regards, Mukesh.
