1058 error with Group Policy on Domain Controller
There seems to be a sysvol replicaton problem and one of DC is not getting the updated sysvol. You can try forcing the replicaiton between the domain controllers http://www.windowstricks.in/2009/11/force-sysvol-replication.html IF nothing works , I would request you to setup blurflg on DC where you are facing this. Details are there in Below Techwiki article http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/8548.sysvol-and-netlogon-share-importance-in-active-directory.aspx http://eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=13508&eventno=349&source=NtFrs&phase=1 Regards, _Prashant_MCSA|MCITP SA|Microsoft Exchange 2003 Blog - http://prashant1987.wordpress.com Disclaimer: This posting is provided AS-IS with no warranties/guarantees and confers no rights.

Looked through most of the other errors here, and I'm getting a 1058 error while processing group policy on a domain controller. The weird thing is when i go to the GPO in question, it doesn't exist. I can't continue any troubleshooting steps because I do not know why it is not there. How can the GPO be trying to process a group policy that doesn't exist on the sysvol? Here's the error codes anyways: The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows attempted to read the file \\*.*\SysVol\*.*\Policies\{0DCE1F65-A5C6-470B-9E16-1EFF02EDFE23}\gpt.ini from a domain controller and was not successful. Group Policy settings may not be applied until this event is resolved. This issue may be transient and could be caused by one or more of the following: a) Name Resolution/Network Connectivity to the current domain controller. b) File Replication Service Latency (a file created on another domain controller has not replicated to the current domain controller). c) The Distributed File System (DFS) client has been disabled. Hello, this is too less information to get you some help, please upload the following files if the already given articles doesn't help: ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt [all DCs] dcdiag /v /c /d /e /s:dcname >c:\dcdiag.txt repadmin /showrepl dc* /verbose /all /intersite >c:\repl.txt ["dc* is a place holder for the starting name of the DCs if they all begin the same (if more then one DC exists)] dnslint /ad /s "DCipaddress" (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321045) As the output will become large, DON'T post them into the thread, please use Windows Sky Drive(with open access!) http://explore.live.com/windows-live-skydrive and add the link from it here. Also the /e in dcdiag scans the complete forest, so better run it on COB. Additional post the used OS version incl. SP/patch level.Best regards Meinolf Weber MVP, MCP, MCTS Microsoft MVP - Directory Services My Blog: http://msmvps.com/blogs/mweber/ Disclaimer: This posting is provided AS IS with no warranties or guarantees and confers no rights.
