Cannot save the object '\NON_IPM_SUBTREE\SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY'
Hello All,I have been facing this problem for over a month now so i have decided to sign up to this website in hope that someone can find a solution to this. I have been looking everywhere and nothing seems to have worked. The first fault is that i am unable to download the offline address book via outlook 2007 and 2003.Secondly SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY is also unavaliable. In addition to this the System Public Folders show up however when i ask them to update i get the error:--------------------------------------------------------Microsoft Exchange Error--------------------------------------------------------Action 'Update Content' could not be performed on object 'SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY'.SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSYFailedError:The server 'MAIL' specified does not hold a replica of public folder '\NON_IPM_SUBTREE\SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY'. Synchronizing public folder content can only occur from a server which holds a replica of that public folder.--------------------------------------------------------OK--------------------------------------------------------If i right click on the item in the System Public Folder and add the replication database "Public Mailbox Database" to the list and click apply i get the following error:--------------------------------------------------------Microsoft Exchange Error--------------------------------------------------------The following error(s) occurred while saving changes:set-publicfolderFailedError:Cannot save the object '\NON_IPM_SUBTREE\SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY'. Hi, Have you removed Exchange 2003 server without moving public folder replica as per below article? How to Remove the Last Legacy Exchange Server from an Organization http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb288905(EXCHG.80).aspx Now you can add new server to the replica list of all folders and sub folders of \NON_IPM_SUBTREE public folder. (Note that this command will give some of the errors where it is not soppoused to add the server into replica list and will skip it.) AddReplicaToPFRecursive.ps1 -TopPublicFolder \NON_IPM_SUBTREE -ServerToAdd YourServerName Scripts for Managing Public Folders in the Exchange Management Shell http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997966(EXCHG.80).aspx

Hello Amit, Thank you for your quick response, i have attempted your command, a few instances worked however the Offline Address Book and Schedule+ Free Busy failed with the following errors:Cannot save the ovject '\NON_IPM_SUBTREE\SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY'. Please make sure that you specified the correct identity and that you have the necessary permissions to save it.At the beggining of the command i noticed the error:Set-PublicFolder : Modification of the \NON_IPM_SUBTREE folder is not allowed.I have also tried to renew the administrators accounts permissions on the PF however this also failed with the error:Failed to modify the MAPI.NET table property of the object.....

Hi Lee, Yes, some of the parent folders dont require adding the replica like NON_IPM_SUBTREE, SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY, OAB and EFORMS Registry and server will be added into replica list of all the sub folders. Verify the OAB settings are correct How to View and Modify Offline Address Book Settings http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997668(EXCHG.80).aspx Update the OAB, wait for sometime and try to download manually in outlook. Clarify: Both outlook 2003 and 2007 users cant download OAB, right? Explanation: outlook 2003 obtains the OAB from public folder; outlook 2007 obtains it from CAS server Collect info: 1. Is it a pure exchange server 2007 environment or co-exist with 2003? Could you give a description for your environment? 2. Affected scope: All users or parts of users? 3. Which kind of account does users use, exchange account? 4. Whats the error info on both versions of outlook when they cant download OAB and retrieve Free/Busy info? Troubleshooting on server: 1. Run a health check on the server with ExBPA 2. Go to EMC->Properties of users mailbox store->Client Settings tab->check Default public folder store and Offline address book 3. EMC->Properties of OAB ->Distribution tab->see if Enable Web-based distribution and Enable public folder distribution have been checked 4. Go to MBX server, C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server, check if the ExchangeOAB folder has been generated and shared 5. Go to CAS server, C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\OAB, check if the OAB file has been generated there 6. Search for error info on the application log when you update the OAB 7. Run the cmdlet against affected OAB and post the output for analysis Get-OfflineAddressBook id Name | Fl Troubleshooting on client: 1. Check if theres error info in the Sync Issues folder of outlook Notes: Click Folder List button in the outlook, which locates at the left-below corner of navigate pane by default 2. Please try to perform a full download for OAB on both version of outlook, after full download has completed, an event 27 will be logged on the application log of client no matter its successful or not Notes: We can analyze the event based on this article, or you can post the event content here Resources: Offline Address Book Integrity (OABInteg) Utility Explained OABInteg and how to use it to troubleshoot OAB generation issues
