x86 or x64 help
A few couple days ago, my laptop got a notice for a update so i installed whatever it was but ever since doing that, my laptop won't open any applications i try to click. I click on firefox or AIM or itunes, and just about every other thing i try to open and nothing opens and instead i get this error.... The version of this file is not compatible with the verison of windows your running. check your computers system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher. so what does all that even mean? im able to get on this site and type this cause i clicked on something about troubleshooting help and it took me here. how can i get this fixed and make my laptop work again?

If you installed a patch, then you can also remove it through add/remove programs. You can boot into safe mode to do this and it might simplify what is running on the system. This isn't really the forum for this topic, but there's some clues for you regardless.http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Remove-an-updateThat's for Vista - you don't say what OS you're on though.
