windows server OS requirement for exchange 2010 SP2 rollup 6
Hi, We're running exchange 2010 sp1 ru6 on Windows Enterprise 2008 R2 for mailbox servers in a DAG. The exchange 2010 sp2 prereqs don't include Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996719(EXCHG.141).aspx), but the supportability matrix doc does (http://technet.microsoft.com/library/ff728623(v=EXCHG.141). Can someone verify that I do not have to install SP1 for W2008 R2 on my dag mailbox servers before upgrading to exchange 2010 SP2 and RU6? Thanks!

Why having Exchange up to date but not Windows? BTW there is SP3 out as well so perhaps go for that insted of SP2?Jesper Bernle | Microsoft Community Contributor 2011 Awardee

Hi Susan, I'd suggest you apply Exchang e2010 SP3, and apply Win2008 R2 SP1. Refer to: Release Notes for Exchange Server 2010 SP3 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj965774(v=exchg.141).aspx Exchange 2010 Prerequisites http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb691354(v=exchg.141).aspx Install the Exchange 2010 Hotfixes for Windows Server 2008 R2: The following hotfixes only apply to Windows Server 2008 R2 RTM. If youre installing Exchange on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, you dont need to apply these hotfixes. So, yes, we need to apply SP1 on Win2008 R2Fiona Liao TechNet Community Support
