windows Media Player 12 no sound

After two daysof fruitlesssearch in the Internet to solve the problem by myself I'm forced to resort to yours knowledge to ask for help. In my 4 years old H P Pavilion Media Center desktop  with windows Vista x 64, recently I had to change the HD. Taking advantage of the situation I decided to buy a new brand Windows 7 x 64 Professional OS  CD and I installed it in the new HD along with Office Professional 2007.

With Vista I was able to see and hear all type of movies. With windows 7 x 64 Professional the movies .WMV - .AVI -.MP4 have no sound or are very low or garble. The computer is update, from Device Manager I updated all drivers and the volume slides are to the maximum. Automatically windows Media Player 12 was installed

I can see and hear some movies from YouTube and some from my computer, but I cannot hear news from Internet.

On Device Manager I disable "Hauppauge Win TV HIR - 1600 NTSC/ ATSC combo" And choose "Realtek High Definition Audio" as default, hopping fixing the problem.

Neither I was lucky to download "Windows Live Movie Maker" which I was using in Vista. I got a lot of garbage from the internet except the codec that I need. Now I'm give up, tired of so many hours of fruitless search.

Please, I appeal at your good willing to help me to recover the sound of such beloved family movies.

Your help will be greatly appreciated

Hi

Open Windows Media Player>click organize>options>devices tab> Speakers>properties
Select your output device>apply> play music> Headbang

I would also like to suggest you try to install the K-Lite Codec Pack to check the result.
