windows 98 explorer 6
I trying to keep a old computer going. I have windows 98, and explorer 6. The internet provider has just changed their main page, and it tells me that I need a hotfix to be compatable with it. It also say I need at least the exp. 6. which i have. When I click on the hotfix, I get this message: Update for Internet Explorer 6 SP1 - Internet Explorer Does Not Correctly Decompress Data with GZIP Data Compression Method (837251 I have tried to put a fix on and then it tells me I need explorer 6 which I have. Hoping someone has something that will help. Thanks from Kit

As a non-expert on windows client OS, I suggest that you install internet explorer 6 SP1 and all latest updates for it, please also check the error event in the application log if you can reproduce the issue Also, July 11, 2006 has brought a close to Extended Support for Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, and Windows Me as part of the Microsoft Lifecycle Policy.
