why cant add any server role other than Mailbox on CCR
Hello, I had gone through the concepts of CCR (Cluster Continuous Replication). According to Microsoft we can't add any other server role on CCR mailbox server in exchange 2007. Could any one explain why? Thanks, Vikas

Hello Rhoderick, Thanks for your reply. But i am still not get the answer i am looking for. for example. Microsoft recommend One Mailbox database per storage group in CCR coz of log replication. So i am looking for the "Technical Term/restriction" in this case for adding more server role in CMS (Cluster Mailbox Serer). Thanks, Vikas

Hi there, There is no defined technical term other than the product simply doesn't support it. It may have something to do with Windows Fail Over Clustering and Windows Network Load Balancing co-existing on a single Server however.Oliver Moazzezi | Exchange MVP, MCSA:M, MCITP:Exchange 2010, BA (Hons) Anim | http://www.exchange2010.com | http://www.cobweb.com | http://twitter.com/OliverMoazzezi

. Microsoft recommend One Mailbox database per storage group in CCR coz of log replication. Hi there, well that is a different question :) the 1:1 log to DB is a requirement not a recommendation for CCR. The 1:1 DB to log stream is needed for continuous replication. You will see the same in 2010 effectively as storage groups are removed and this means that a single db attaches to its dedicated transaction log stream.
