wbs modeler won't load visio 2013 pro/office 365

Hi,

I've installed WBS Modeler add-in onto my Win 7/Visio 2013 Pro/Office 365 laptop, but the Modeler won't load.  When I start Visio and check the addins, the WBS Modeler shows up as an Inactive Application Add-In.  When I check the COM add-ins, the add-in shows up in the list, however the Load Behavior is: "Not loaded. A runtime error occurred during the loading of the COM Add-in.".  The location looks messed up too. It is: "C:Program Files (x86)\Visio Add-In for WBS Modeler\\WBSModeler.vsto|vstolocal".  I've uninstalled/reinstalled/repaired several times -- all with the same behavior.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Yeah, I've only found WBS Modeler for Visio 2010.  I've seen other posts in various forums that indicate the 2010 Modeler works fine with Visio Pro 2013.  But I can't seem to get past the initial load.

Hi,

There is a similar issue, it says that we can use the 32-bit WBS modeler to run on PC. I faced the same issue using the 64 bit install, but the 32 bit version works well on 64 bit Visio

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-visio/does-visio-2013-have-a-wbs-modeler-add-in/bfa5a396-ad7d-4156-a2d4-c547002670d6

I reproduce on my PC, the 32-bit WBS modeler works normally on 64-bit Visio.

If there is anything I can do for you regarding this issue, feel free to post back.

I think the issue I'm having is different than the one described in the thread above.  The issue in the thread deals with 32/64 bit incompatibilities and installation issues. In my case, Visio Pro 2013, Project Pro 2013 and the WBS Modeler 2010 are all 32-bit although Windows 7 is 64-bit.  Also, I'm not having any of the installation problems that are described in the thread - everything installs without error or warning.

Somehow, the location of the  modeler is miscomputed, as the attached picture shows.

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

I get exactly the same as you. I can't get the Add In Loaded.

I set the environment variable that inhibits debugging to 0 and get the message below.

Unfortunately this is Microsoft Visual Basic mombo-jombo that I don't understand.

I hope someone around here understands it.

I am running Windows 7 32 bit.

.NET framework 4.5.2

I found the answer.

I have Office 2010 Proffessional Plus.

VSTO add ins are incompatible with the boutique version of Office.

Thank you Microsoft. So it turns out if we had a shittier version of Office, this add in might work.
