unused addresses showing up in the gal.
Hello I have a bunch of addresses that show up in the gal, but are not visible to Exchange. They used to be associated with public folders but somehow they are no longer associated to those folders and the email actually fails if you try to send to it. Is there a way to get inside the GAL and remove addresses?

so these were once mail-enable public folders? If you look under the "Microsoft Exchange System Objects" container (Advanced View) in ADUC, do you see the mail-enabled object associated with those public folders still there and orphaned?

How can I tell if they are orphaned for example. We have a public folder called knowledgebase that has an email that is associated to it kb@whatever.com. In the GAL there are two listings and one is the correct one and the other one is knowledgebase@whatever.com The second one fails when you try to send an email to it. I am in ADUC in advanced view and I do see two folders. One Knowledgebase and the other Knowledgebase 94366376 which is incorrect.

Hi, Could you see the two folders under Public Folders in ESM? And check which the address associated with the Public Folder. Then delete the uncorrect one in ADUC. Thanks Allen
