troubleshooting the failure of Exchange System Attendant to create session for virtual manchine error 0x80040115.
I am using Exchange 2007 Sp3 (Version: 08.03.0083.000) under SBS 2008. I note two repeating errors in my application event log: The Microsoft Exchange System Attendant service failed to create session for virtual machine SERVER. The error number is 0x80040115. event 4001 from MSExchange System Attendant Mailbox: A transient failure has occurred. The problem may resolve itself in awhile. The service will retry in 56 seconds. Diagnostic information: Cannot open mailbox /o=First Organization/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (xxx)/cn=Configuration/cn=Servers/cn=xxx/cn=Microsoft System Attendant. followed by several other 'cannot open mailbox' errors. I have confirmed that the Microsoft Exchange System Attendant service is started automatically. Please help me understand the meaning of these errors and how I can troubleshoot this problem.

Hi Have you migrated from SBS 2003? Uninstalled Exchange 2003 successfully?Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog

No, I did not upgrade. This was a new installation of SBS 2008.

Thanks for responding. A few days later the problem has not recurred. Somehow it is fixed by itself it seems, so I will happily avoid a delving into this further.
