test spam emails with scl of 9, dont goto the junk email folder for a few users??  (checked whitelists, etc) Exchange 2007
I have two users.. one user i email a test keyword spam email message (via GFI v12 for 2007 beta)... it goes to their junk email folder just fine, scl of 9... (threshold set to 8, antispam agents installed on exchange 2007).. another user.. the same message ends up in their inbox. I also checked that users owa options.. junk email options are enabled just fine. I checked their whitelists.. this wasnt the issue (i looked in the junk email options button in outlook.. didnt see the user whitelisted).. This is an odd problem, as I have enabled antispam features in exchange 2007.. which i think means that the IMF should be doing the moving to Junk Email (the server, not outlook).. On the person's machine that has the issue, i checked their junk email options in outlook (which i dont think should even matter).. it was set to "off", but greyed out, due to the GPO, which btw.. the gpo is set to "Low", so he is not getting the right setting.. I then went to the other users machine, the one where the email went to his junk email folder, and sure enough (odd).. his junk email outlook setting was set to "off" too and greyed out, getting the wrong policy... but despite this it was moved correctly. I also tried opening the other mailbox from within the mailbox / profile which had the email moved to "junk email" just fine.. i sent another test message.. it went to the working mailbox's junk email folder, while the other account it went to their inbox.. so i dont think GPO has anything to do with the issue here. So i'm lost as to why one account would work and another wouldnt.

Do you have an Exchange 2007 EDGE Server configured? If not did you install Antispam agents on the HUB transport server? Deli

Deli Not an edge server, same server, yep installed the agents.. set the threshold to an 8... Solution.. well partial: I had the user with the problem go into outlook owa.. turn off the junk mail setting.. then save.. then turn it back on.. then i sent the test message.. boom.. it worked.. went into junk e-mail... Seems to be a bug with the owa setting? Just glad i dont have 500 users, or this would be a real pain. **What is a good recommended junkthreshold value? ie: i'm using 8, was thinking of lowering it to 5?

I think 5 is a better value than 8because 8 is rather high value and almost certain spam. You can however also configure a quarantine mailbox in your Antispam configuration and quarantine messages that are higher than 6 or 7 You also have Delete message and Reject message settings More info on these configurations here SCL Threshold Actions in Exchange 2007 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa995744.aspx Deli
