stop E2K3's setup.exe from immediately returning to the command prompt
I am trying to automate an installation of exchange 2003 enterprise (on a W2K3 32bit R2 SP2) using an answer file via a command script. The issue I have is when I call setup.exe (with the answer file switches etc) in the command file, the command window returns the command prompt immediately after executing setup.exe.The next command is the installer for SP2! It of course can't execute properly since the core installer for exchange is still running!I tried using the start /wait command (which the help file says should hold control for a 32-bit app if called from a command script), but it does not change the behavior.I'm currently reduced to using a sleep command, but that's just poor programming to rely on a fixed timer. :(Anyone out there have anydecent methods ofgettinga script to actually wait for installation completion before moving on to the next step?Much thanks,Seth Brandes
