some iOS EAS clients displaying deleted mail

Hi,

I've got an on prem Exchange 2013 CU6 deployment.  Some of my users with iOS EAS mail clients see deleted mail remaining in their phones' inboxes.  This is also true with mail that's been moved from the inbox to another folder.  It's an intermittent problem.

Removing & re-adding the phone will temporarily fix the problem.

Any thoughts or pointers?

Thanks!

You might make sure your iOS is a current version, and consult an iOS forum.

It's happening to some of my users with the latest rev of iOS and a couple Android users now as well.  Most of the user community by me is iOS, so it isn't surprising that I thought it was iOS only at the start.

Hello.

Not long ago, Microsoft released an application, Outlook 2013 Client for mobile devices. As a recommendation, use the application. You will be able to open a through technical support at Microsoft for all its customers, regardless of platform.

Hi Oleg,

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately the legal & security teams at my company had three complaints about the MS EAS client: lack of PIN policy support, hashing credentials, and indexing mail on the MS (well, AWS for now) servers.  I had to block the new MS Outlook for mobile client as a result.  So far they have fixed the PIN policy support.  I hope the credentials issue is addressed. I might even be able to argue regarding indexing.

But until then, and, boy do I want to be able to implement Outlook for mobile for exactly why you're suggesting it, I need to figure out why some chunk of my user base is suddenly having problems with deleted mail in their EAS clients.  The fact that it's happening on a couple platforms seems to point to a server side issue, no?

Regards,

Adam

Hi Adam.

I do not know your mail system architecture and requirements for user authentication.
But I can say that the problems encountered in the work of the iOS and MS EAS customers for a very large amount of users with a high level safe. (More 25K users)
Not once checked the rules.
1. Install all the latest updates for the OS and Exchange.
2. Update all iOS and APP to the latest support version.
3. Include a high level of logging for services Exchange, IIS, Firewall, as well as on the problematic client and Exchange, and get through the log the problem.

Then you can talk about the end point block problem.
